The Husky Breed

Huskies are not just a pet, THEY ARE A LIFESTYLE.

A husky parent will need to enjoy daily walks and an occasional run down the street in their pajamas when the front door gets left open. They will need an amazing vacuum , enjoy filling holes in the yard and have an extremely secure fence.

Unlimited patience  is required, especially when you call your husky and she looks at you with those big blue eyes and then runs in the other direction.  You will need a great sense of humor when you arrive home to find the Costco size bag of toilet paper is torn into tiny pieces all over the house and your pup wants you to praise him for what a great job he did.

Huskies are amazing family dogs and have incredible patience with small children. They are also pack animals that do not do well left alone. They do best with another dog around but  are also very devoted to their  person. Huskies are generally not aggressive animals, but they are also very prey driven and  often consider it a game to catch small animals. They are extremely smart and get bored easily, so if left alone will tend to entertain themselves with your furniture, dirty laundry and your favorite shoe. (Don't worry, they only eat one of each pair).

Huskies are working dogs so parents that are into running, biking and  hiking will find a loyal companion and a whole new world of activities to explore. Huskies love to bikejor, skijor and dog sled and there are  some amazing husky groups to help you explore these sports.
